This week it’s the annual Independent Venue Week and we have three great shows coming up to celebrate all of the good things that independent venues do to support grass roots live music and the arts.
This Wednesday 29th it’s the return of the areas original and best comedy club Big Mouth Comedy Club. Big Mouth have been promoting up and coming UK comedy talent for years and their shows are always busy, laugh a minute events. This weekend we bring the noise with two gigs. On Friday 31st we have TQ9s very own psychedelic groove instrumental collective Skycake live and on Saturday we have ex Lush singer Miki Berenyi with the Miki Berenyi Trio supported by Totnes/London based indie band Lemonade Sin and the Transmission indie DJs.
Things Happen Here is proud to be an independent venue, promoting artists and events we ourselves genuinely like or see value in, buying only from independent breweries, self financed with no ties to any funder, brewery or distributor. We survive or fail on our own decisions at our own expense. We are a truly independent venue and we are very proud of it.
Support independent venues where ever they are (we are lucky locally to have some great venues-it’s not easy doing this!) support live music and all the other great events that are happening and have a great time doing it.
